About the Project
The PACER Plus ePhyto Capacity Building Project aims to strengthen the ability of select PACER Plus countries to effectively implement the Generic ePhyto National System (GeNS), enabling governments and industry to benefit from streamlined, digital phytosanitary certification processes. Aligned with regional efforts led by the Pacific Plant Protection Organisation (PPPO) and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), the project provides tailored, country-specific support to address gaps in preparedness, infrastructure, and capacity. Through a phased approach, focusing first on assessment and planning, then on implementation, it supports the development of best practice frameworks, national plans, IT systems, and monitoring tools, while enhancing coordination, resource allocation, and integration with broader trade systems such as National Trade Portals.
